About the Coaches
Theo Devaney‘s core passion is to help artists become the most inspired, empowered and successful version of themselves.
After training at the Oxford School of Drama (UK), Theo spent eight years immersed in British theatre, including running his own company, before transitioning into TV, film, and voice acting. You may recognize him as Count Simon from Netflix’s A Christmas Prince and The Princess Switch franchises, Gavin Macleod from Supernatural, or Winston from Psych. Currently, Theo has the privilege of voicing Sherlock Holmes in the acclaimed anime series Moriarty the Patriot on Crunchyroll.

Maggie Reed is a classically trained actor with decades of experience across stage, film, and television. She currently recurs as CIA Director Diana Greene on CBS’s The Equalizer and has appeared in Only Murders in the Building, Dear Edward, Law & Order: SVU, Seinfeld, and Star Trek: TNG.
Originally from Salinas, CA, Maggie holds an M.F.A. from Cornell and toured nationally with The Acting Company. As a coach, she brings warmth, humor, and deep industry insight—helping actors connect to their craft with truth and confidence.

Why Work

For three years, Theo led weekly Acting Masterclasses in LA; guiding professional actors in sharpening their craft and advancing their careers. He found the camaraderie and creative energy of the studio to be as rewarding as working on a set or in a theatre company.
As Theo Devaney Acting Studio celebrates our second anniversary, we are happy to be settled into our wonderful studio in the Valley Arts District of Orange New Jersey. The mission continues to support local actors in achieving their creative dreams through professional training, mentorship, and collaboration. Let’s build your craft, confidence, and career together—while sharing the joy and camaraderie that makes acting such a special calling.

Acting Opportunities in
New Jersey
As an actor I’ve had quite the nomadic career, living and working for extended periods in various major regional and global markets over the past 18 years: London, LA, Vancouver & NYC. As a coach, I specialize in helping emerging & transitioning artists to establish and assert themselves in local, regional and global creative markets, pursuing, TV, Film, Commercial & Theatre work. New Jersey is a growing hub for major international TV & Film production thanks to its proximity to NYC and the current governor’s commitment to supporting growth in NJ’s entertainment sector. Production companies always want to cast local actors if they can, for convenience, as well as administrative and financial reasons. That’s why there’s a huge advantage for local artists in these regions to make their names close to home. It’s a great place to start, as it’s a more nurturing environment in which to build a reputation. Added to this, you have access to some of the highest quality Theatre in the world, and I am a huge believer in the power of theatre to inspire, develop and improve actors’ work, whether as performer or audience. For info on what is currently shooting, see here for New Jersey and New York City.
